Our Story

Bark Pops started because of our own dogs and their food allergies.

In March 2020, we adopted our first rescue from the humane society. She was a rescue from Northern Manitoba. Sophie was a wild street dog, but deep down she was loving. With some training and a welcoming home, she quickly became our sweet girl.

However, six months into Sophie living with us, she started showing symptoms of allergies. She was itchy, some fur loss and some rashes popped up. After several trips to the vet, many tests and countless different foods, we determined she needed to be on a prescribed diet. And, with that, all the treats she loved, had to go. And left us searching endlessly for replacements.

In March 2021, after some tough times, we adopted our second pup, Willow. Coming from around the same area as Sophie did just a year before, we soon discovered she had similar reactions to food.

Now, with two dogs, both with food sensitivities, we had to take matters in our own hands. Weeks and weeks of research, we found some natural ingredients they both can have. Thus, our peanut butter treat was created. After some taste tests and some monitoring, neither Sophie or Willow showed any reaction! Success!

We began making the peanut butter treat for them, sharing them with co workers and friends. We were elated with positive feedback and started getting requests from more and more people!

The rest is history. Bark Pops was formed.
